Val Cenis Lanslebourg
The Maurienne Valley is the longest alpine valley in France. It has been shaped by millennia of exchanges between the eastern and western Alps, as well as by the unique history of Savoy. The result is a rich agricultural, mining, religious and historical heritage, as well as routes over the high alpine passes.
Haute Maurienne extends from the Col de l’Iseran to the Essaillon forts, just upstream from Modane. To the northwest lies the Vanoise National Park, while the Graie Alps and the Italian border mark its southeastern edge.
In Val Cenis Lanslebourg, the International Center for Ethical Stays Etapes will welcome us at an altitude of 1400 meters, surrounded by peaks over 3500 meters.
